Fuck Cancer.
I have met this woman, and I know her children. They are all lovely people and I am so glad she didn’t die. However, she is totally deluded if she thinks bitterness and depression and lack of rejoicing in God’s creation caused her cancer, and she is even MORE wrong if she thinks faith and prayer cured it. She is effectively saying that people who die from cancer could have been cured if only they had prayed hard enough, or had enough faithful friends to pray for them then God could have cured them. If they prayed with all they had and died anyway, then clearly God did not deem them worthy to live (according to Angela’s way of thinking).
A few seconds after watching this video and thinking all these annoyed thoughts, I recieved news that a woman I used to sing with, who has been suffering from kidney cancer for a long time has passed on. She was kind, lovely, faithful (as in religious, god-fearing, and I’m sure she prayed to get better, and her faithful family and friends did too), and she loved glitter at Christmas.
God bless Ita, rest in peace. The singer, she lasts a season long, but the song, it lasts forever.
Angela, get your head out of the heavens and start thanking the medicine, doctors and your own body (that evolution created) for saving your life.
